PINK BALLS FOR GIRLS
The PINK BALL FOR GIRLS Project consists in giving pink soccer balls and basketballs to vulnerable girls from vulnerable communities in Lenape Hoking / New York City and abroad.
We all agree that soccer and basketball are great sports for children. Unfortunately, due to gender based discrimination and gender stereotypes among other factors, most girls are not trained and encouraged as they should be to take advantage of their strengths and the wonderful benefits of playing soccer and basketball, and many who would love to play these sports don’t have the necessary equipment to play with or the training needed to learn how to play.
To Images for Inclusion Inc it is fundamental to promote gender equality and break gender stereotypes and provide girls with equal opportunities to develop their strengths just like boys do. Proving the pink balls, girls get the opportunity to improve their mental and physical health, in addition to enjoying a team-sport that promotes social activity and helps them make friends in a healthy way.
Girls who benefit with our Pink Balls For Girls project increase their self esteem and self confidence; reduce stress and boost their immune system, develop teamwork skills, communication and leadership skills they need to have a brighter future
The Pink Balls For Girls project is an "ongoing," project. It kicked-off with as part of a Back-To-School event on September 9th, 2017 at Jacob Riis Cornerstone Community Center. We would like to thank everyone who contributed to our first Pink Balls For Girls Project.
First PINK BALLS FOR GIRLS Project ... the beginning of many more to come! :)
